Neck and back pain treatment in Tampa

Back pain from moving furniture, a neck that will not turn after a long drive, or pain down a leg. We start by finding out which kind it is.

Find the source first

A wooden reflex hammer and a folded white towel rest on a steel tray on an empty padded exam table.

We ask when it started, what makes it better or worse, and how it affects sleep and work. Then we test movement, strength, reflexes and sensation.

Treatment and home care

Care can include adjustments, soft tissue work, stretching and strength exercises. We explain each one first, and you can say no to any part. You leave with a few exercises that take under ten minutes a day.

Signs that need a different doctor

A man sits on the edge of a bed holding his lower back

Numbness in the groin or saddle area, loss of bladder or bowel control, weakness that is getting worse, fever with back pain, or back pain after a serious fall need urgent medical care. Go to an emergency room.

Questions about neck and back pain

Do I need an X-ray first?

Not always. We order imaging when the exam or your history calls for it, and we tell you why.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on the injury and on how your body responds. We give you an estimate after the first exam and re-check it as you go.
