Get seen within 14 days

Florida PIP pays for medical care only if you get initial care within 14 days of the crash. PIP pays 80 percent of reasonable medical costs, up to policy limits. The rule is in Florida Statutes section 627.736.
The limit is $2,500 unless a medical doctor, osteopath, dentist, PA or APRN finds an emergency medical condition. Your insurer decides what your policy pays, and we do not promise coverage.
If you have severe pain, numbness or a head injury, go to an emergency room first.
Your exam and plan of care

We take a full history of the crash and check your range of motion, strength, reflexes and sensation. Most plans combine adjustments, soft tissue work and rehab exercises. We re-examine you on a schedule and write down what changed.
The paperwork

Bettina, our claims coordinator, opens the PIP claim with your auto insurer and sends the records they request. Bring these if you have them:
- your auto insurance card and claim number
- your adjuster's name and phone number
- the crash report number
Questions about auto accident injuries
Should I see a chiropractor if I feel fine after a crash?
Many people feel stiff the next morning, not at the scene. An exam inside the 14-day window records how you are doing while PIP is still open. If nothing is injured, we tell you.
When should I go to the emergency room instead?
Go to an emergency room or call 911 for a head injury, loss of consciousness, severe pain, numbness or weakness in an arm or leg, trouble with balance or speech, or loss of bladder or bowel control.
Do you work with attorneys?
Yes. If you have an attorney, we send your records to their office with your written permission. We do not give legal advice.
